How do I check if my Android device supports eSIM?
Last updated: 2026-09-03
Quick answer
Open your device's SIM settings and look for an option to add an eSIM. On Samsung Galaxy that is Settings > Connections > SIM manager > Add eSIM. On Google Pixel it is Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Add SIM. If no eSIM option exists, the device does not support it.
Steps
- Open the SIM settings for your brand using the paths above. Other Android brands use a similar Network or Connections menu.
- Check whether an eSIM or Add SIM option is offered.
- Find your exact model in Settings > About phone and confirm it on /help/device-compatibility.
- Confirm the phone is not locked to an operator.
What to check
- Android eSIM support varies far more by model and region than on iPhone. Two phones with the same marketing name can differ between countries.
- Some carrier-sold Android devices have the eSIM menu removed by the operator's software.
- Dual-SIM variants sometimes replace the eSIM with a second physical SIM slot.
Important
If the menu is missing, install any pending system updates and check again. Where the manufacturer's regional support page disagrees with a general list, trust the manufacturer.
