Troubleshooting
Why is my eSIM internet so slow and how can I fix it?

Quick answer
Slow speeds on a travel eSIM usually mean weak signal, a busy network, a fair-use speed reduction after heavy usage, or that the phone has attached to a slower network technology. Speeds abroad depend on the partner network you are roaming on, not on eSiMAZE.
Why this happens
- Roaming traffic can be given lower priority than a local network's own customers, especially in busy places.
- Some packages reduce speed after a set amount of data has been used. Check your package terms.
- Indoors, underground, and in crowded venues the signal itself is the limit.
- The phone may have fallen back to a slower network generation while keeping full signal bars.
What to try
- Check remaining data and validity at /app/esims. A depleted package can behave like a very slow one.
- Move outdoors or nearer a window and re-test.
- Toggle Airplane Mode for around 30 seconds so the phone reselects a network.
- Try a different supported network manually, using the list supplied with your package.
- Check the network mode setting on the eSIM line is not restricted to an older generation.
- Close background apps and pause cloud backups and automatic updates while testing.
Important
Speed-test results while roaming vary widely by location and time of day. Test more than once, in more than one place, before concluding the eSIM is faulty. If speeds are unusable across several locations, contact us with the results and your destination.
